Thick essential oil hair mask
- Before using shampoo, apply an appropriate amount (see below) of Yuzu Hair Oil on wet hair. Wrap your hair with warm towel.
- Leave on for 10 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

Twist the white knob to the position marked with a triangle. For the first use, pump a few times until mist appears.
Shake well to mix both layers before every use (about 10 shakes).
From a distance of around 5-10cm, spray on your hair.
Brush through and let dry, or style with hair dryer.

Kochi Prefecture in Japan has the top producer of Yuzu, and Utena collaborated with Kitagawa village, a famed locale, to develop premium raw materials for our premium product.
Kitagawa village was the first village ever to export Yuzu to France. The quality of its produce led to worldwide fame.
Harvested in “Kitagawa”
As Kitagawa village is surrounded by mountains, the weather, soil conditions and fresh air are perfect for producing top quality Yuzu.
Kitagawa village has a long history of Yuzu farming. Ever since the final years of Edo period, Nakaoka Shintarō was one of the first who started its production at this village.
The King of Yuzu
With its long history of producing Yuzu since ancient times, Kitagawa village is one of the rare places that has devoted themselves to the cultivation of king yuzu. This rare breed requires up to 18 years for maturation, with plenty of care and effort needed before harvest. The king of yuzu has a distinctively rich aroma that is unmatched in any other breeds.
As Yuzu seeds cannot withstand high temperatures, a variable low-temperature process is deployed to extract the different oils depending on seasons. This cutting-edge technology prevents oxidation, ensuring that only the freshest ingredients are used in our products.
In the past, Kitagawa village did not have the technological know-how to extract Yuzu seed oil, and all the seeds were gone to waste.
However, after collaborating with Utena, every bit of the precious raw materials were used for the extraction of top quality oil. As this technology is introduced, materials can now be fully utilised, with the community reaping the benefits.

Yuzu Oil is essential in addictive-free haircare, a treatment for both hair and scalp.
Below are the methods of scalp massage with Yuzu Oil.
With the thin veins supporting the scalp, transporting nutrients to the area is a challenge. Muscular tissues are absent at the scalp, so massages are essential to enable blood circulation so as to assist nutrient absorption.
Only with improved blood circulation, nutrients will be absorbed into the scalp effectively. This is essential for rich and luxuriant hair.
Using essential oil to massage the scalp has the added benefit of cleaning the pores at the same time. With dirt like sebum and styling products clogging the pores, the metabolism of hair follicles can easily become imbalanced, affecting hair growth.
By unclogging pores in the scalp, your hair will become more voluminous and healthy.

Place a suitable amount on palm, immersing your fingers in the essential oil.
* Recommended amount= 2~3 tea spoons (about 20 drops)
Comb your hair along the scalp from above the ears towards the crown of your head with your fingers. Then comb backwards from forehead along the direction of hair growth.
Adding 5 more drops of essential oil on palm, using the same method, comb from the hairline of your neck, all the way up to the crown of your head.
